EcoEléctrica has a very strong commitment to the environment. The construction and operation of EcoEléctrica were designed to minimize the impact of these activities on air and water quality, and on the natural resources of the coastal zone of Peñuelas, where the facilities are located. The use of natural gas, the cleanest fossil fuel available on the market, and the installation of state-of-the art technology and environmental controls provide for the generation of clean, safe, and reliable electricity.

EcoEléctrica has been actively involved in protecting and conserving its surrounding environment from its inception with special programs it has in place for sea grass, corals, manatees, wading and migratory birds, and areas of critical ecological value.
