Our Facilities
EcoEléctrica is an integrated facility that includes a 540 MW power plant, the only liquefied natural gas terminal (LNG) in Puerto Rico , with one of the largest LNG tanks in the world, and a desalination plant. Its facilities are located in Puerto Rico's southwest coast, in Punta Guayanilla in the Municipality of Peñuelas , 9 miles west of Ponce , the second most important city on the Island . EcoEléctrica is the most efficient power plant in Puerto Rico because it uses natural gas as fuel and its plant design. It supplies about 13% of the Island 's energy needs in a clean, safe, and reliable way.
